Prince William Set to Attend UN Climate Conference in South America
The Prince of Wales plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, as confirmed by palace sources.
The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday evening at a reception ahead of the climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in the Amazonian city of Belem.
The royal pair were participating in the Natural History Museum reception, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a climate summit preparatory event organized in partnership with the United Kingdom administration.
Environmental Advocacy Dedication
King Charles has been a long-time champion of environmental conservation - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be taking place in South America ahead of the COP summit.
Official representatives have described Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as stepping up an important role in "environmental negotiations".
Previous Activities
The King and Prince of Wales, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were introduced to guests including conservation experts, researchers, environmental activists, foreign representatives and government officials.
This engagement included speaking alongside French leader Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco during the current year.

The UN meeting will dovetail with the prince's own climate innovation prizes, which will conclude in the Brazilian city the eve of he attends the climate conference on the sixth of November.

The King has been a prominent presence at past COP meetings, providing the introductory remarks in Dubai for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the observation: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".
"For decades I've committed a substantial portion of my life trying to raise awareness about the critical dangers confronting humanity over climate change, environmental shifts and ecological decline," the monarch informed attendees.
