Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after March of that year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his ability to compete at the top level was over.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour victory, took control to create a final set.

The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, he clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
